Shares of Walmart Inc. jumped 3.6% and of Home Depot Inc. hiked up 2.4% in premarket trading Tuesday, after the blue-chip retailers reported big fiscal first-quarter profit beats. The stocks were pacing the Dow Jones Industrial Average’s early gainers, and helping keep the Dow in positive territory. The implied price gains for Walmart’s and Home Depot’s stocks would add a total of about 81 points to the Dow’s price, while Dow futures were up 78 points, or 0.2%.
