El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. said Thursday that it has partnered with Flytrex to test drone delivery service in southern California. Flytrex has drones that travel at 32 miles per hour and can provide “door-to-backyard” delivery by lowering orders from 80 feet. Air Loco drone delivery will be available to select loyalty members. Walmart Inc. announced on Thursday that it has invested in a drone company in order to scale up the use of the machines for delivery service. El Pollo Loco stock has fallen 7.8% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index is up 12.5% for the period.
