The Dow finished with a loss of around 82 points, or 0.2%, near 34,312, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 gave up around 9 points, or 0.2%, to close near 4,188. The Nasdaq Composite shaved off around 4 points to end near 13,657, a loss of less than 0.1%.
