On Sunday, daily new cases fell to 6,067 from 10,437 on June 5, according to a New York Times tracker, while deaths dropped to 253 from 370. The declines come as total vaccinations administered topped 300 million, according to data from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with 138.97 million people, or 41.9% of the total population, now fully vaccinated. On a global basis, India was second in cases at 28.91 million on Monday, followed by Brazil at 16.95 million, according to JHU data, while Brazil was second in deaths at 473,404 and India was third at 349,186.
