U.S. equity benchmarks opened mostly higher Tuesday, one day after setting a pair of records and on the second day of the busiest week for corporate earnings reports. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.2% or 56 points, trading near 33,926. at last check. The S&P 500 added 5 points, 0.1%, to open near 4,193. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 32 points, or 0.2%, starting the session near 14,171. Roughly one-third of companies in the S&P 500 have reported their Q1 earnings so far, and about 80% of those have beaten forecasts, according to FactSet data. One such beat was Tesla Inc. , which reported after the bell Monday. Shares were lower Tuesday morning.
