Siz Flags Entertainment Corp. said Monday that Selim Bassoul, the theme park company’s former non-executive chairman of the board, has been appointed chief executive, effective immediately. He succeeds Michael Spanos, who is stepping down after two years. Bassoul will continue to serve as a board member, and Ben Baldanza, a board director and former CEO of Spirit Airlines Inc. , has been elected the company’s new non-executive chairman of the board. Six Flags stock has gained 19% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index is up 24.7% for the period.
