Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, Biden urged Americans to take advantage of what he called “life-saving tools,” in the form of testing, vaccines and treatment. The president noted that the highly contagious BA.5 variant of the virus means that many people will still get infected, and he encouraged wearing a mask in crowded indoor public places.
