My client is a leading educational non-profit organization dedicated to fostering knowledge and understanding of the financial markets for individuals of all backgrounds. Utilizing support and expertise of the financial industry, they provide financial education programs and support to 4th through 12th grade teachers across the country. 

 

They are growing and expanding and looking for an Oracle Payara Administrator for their New York City office.

 

Oracle Payara Administrator

  • Works closely with engineers to design, test, debug and configure complex Windows based operating system components, software tools, server hardware and utilities as required for the operation and ongoing maintenance of server and storage footprint.
  • Performs systems administrative tasks to update and modify server and storage system configurations. 
  • Maintains proper documentation and operations scheduling standards for OS and security patching of computer systems and software. 
  • Develops and updates technical documentation, as built drawings, change control plans, instructions and procedures. Leads change control discussions, and presents deployment details and ongoing server hardware roadmap plans.
  • Analyzes capacity requirements for server & storage infrastructure growth. Constructs backup and recovery methodologies ensuring the firm's data is backed up, protected and replicated.  Ensures the firm’s systems backup and restoration process across the 3 global data center regions is fully functional and consistently maintained according to best practices and high standards.
  • Creates backup testing schedules for server and storage systems coordinating with all GTS groups ensuring successful backup completions. Works with GTS teams to conduct monthly failover tests of systems using a constructed test plan.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Experienced with Payara Server Application
  • Data Analysis, trending, classification experience and reporting
  • Data base oracle and cloud experience
  • Strong project reporting & communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Understanding of GDPR guidelines around data privacy and protection.
  • Experienced with security product design and messaging with expertise in Active Directory, Power Shell Scripting.

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience with systems administration.
