Field Application Engineer

My client is s a global designer and manufacturer of advanced RF and microwave components, modules, systems, and instruments. Serving the wireless, telecommunication, satellite, military, aerospace, semiconductor, and medical industries, their products enable innovation across existing and emerging wireless technologies. With a product portfolio including peak power meters, signal generators, phase noise analyzers, signal processing modules, LTE PHY/stack software, power splitters and combiners, GPS repeaters, public safety components, noise sources, and programmable noise generators, they support the development, testing, and deployment of wireless technologies around the globe.

They are expanding and looking for a Field Applications Engineer in NJ, MD or VA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will interface with high-level architects, engineers and product managers at the customer level and our own award-winning wireless engineers and marketing leaders. You will face the most challenging objectives as many projects will be breaking new ground.
  • A successful Field Applications Engineer will provide novel solutions to increasingly complex challenges. Your success will depend on working with a team of highly skilled individuals to address a common goal. Your innovative insight and guidance will ensure client success.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Provide Customers with Post-Sales technical support, SW/HW technical queries, field integration and troubleshooting
  • Provide Pre-sales technical support and product training to customers
  • Provide consultation to customers. Application areas specifically include: 5G/Small Cells, Private/LTE Networks, Shared Spectrum, Licensed/Unlicensed, 3GPP.
  • Work with cross-functional teams: Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Operations to develop and deploy new products and solutions. Gather technical inputs and market information to assist with business case development.
  • Create technical documentation: technical presentations, reference designs, application notes, product briefs, white papers. Conduct and Lead Technical Training sessions and Webinars.
  • Support Product Marketing efforts: development of Product Catalogs & ordering guides, participate in Tradeshows & Industry Conferences

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering, Comp Sci, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of 4G/5G Embedded Software Development, DSP, and/or Software-Defined-Radio (SDR) required
  • 5+ years in Wireless industry preferred
