Sales Engineer (Federal & Civilian)

My client designs, develops, manufactures, markets, sells and supports a family of management products that enable unified service delivery management capabilities, performance management and optimization of complex, high-speed networks, that assure the delivery of critical business applications, services, and content efficiently to customers and end-users. The Company manufactures and markets these products as an integrated hardware and software solution that is used by commercial enterprises, government agencies and telecommunications service providers worldwide.

They are expanding the team and looking for 2 Sales Engineer’s in the D.C Metro area to support their Federal and Civilian Sales Teams.


Proven pre-sales record of success and achievement for themselves and their team. The Sales Engineer will need a minimum of 5+ years networking pre-sales technical support experience. Cultural familiarity with and experience in doing business within the Region is critical. Experience in Networking with past experience as a Network Engineer, Application Engineer or Sales Engineer.


  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT and/or 5 years as a pre-sales engineer
  • Technical Military training, Computer Science or S/W Engineering Degree (BS/BA or equivalent)
  • Formal presentation training


Business Experience Desired:

  • Firm understanding of corporate budget cycles is a must
  • Experience formulating and submitting budgets a plus
  • Experience responding to or creating RFI or RFPs is a plus
  • Experience with IT internal accounting procedure (Capital for Operational) is an advantage
  • Experience with contracts, leasing concepts and maintenance is an advantage
  • Experience in having conducted or participated in security audits a plus
  • Must hold or be able to hold a Top-secret Gov clearance


Formal Sales Training Desired:

  • Must have attended formal sales training that teaches pre-sales techniques. Examples of training courses include but are not limited to Sandler, Siebel or Afterburner.


Base: 130-150K+

OTE: 200K+
